The short answer
At Austin Private Bartending, our pricing is simple: $80 per hour, per bartender. No confusing packages, no hidden fees. Most events book a 4-hour minimum, which comes out to $320 per bartender for the event.
What's included in the hourly rate?
- An experienced, professional bartender (male or female)
- All professional bar equipment — shakers, jiggers, strainers, coolers, garnish trays, and more
- Custom cocktail menu design and recommendations
- Bar setup, service, and breakdown
The one thing not included is the alcohol and mixers — and that's actually good news for your wallet (more on that below).
How many bartenders do I need?
A solid rule of thumb is one bartender per 50 guests. For full cocktail service or fast-paced events, we'll often recommend one per 35–40 guests so nobody waits in line. Here's a quick reference:
- Up to 50 guests: 1 bartender
- 50–100 guests: 2 bartenders
- 100–150 guests: 3 bartenders
How to save money on bar service
Because you supply your own liquor and mixers, you only buy what you'll actually use — and you keep whatever's left over. We'll send you a recommended shopping list so you don't overspend. Sticking to a focused menu of 2–3 signature cocktails (plus beer and wine) also keeps costs predictable and service fast.
